Any advice for using SFG on a pretty steep hill? We've never gardened at all, but in reading The All New SFG book, it's pretty straightforward. I just wish we weren't on this hill.

Howdy:

Depending on the steepness of your hill, terracing is a very doable option. Several folks on the new and old SFG forums have posted pictures of that procedure. You may need to put a solid bottom (plywood) on your box to prevent your soil from washing away. If you put a solid bottom on you will need to drill a 1/4 inch hole every 12 inches in each direction plus an extra in each corner for proper drainage. I know that one small hole every 12 inches sounds like it is to two few, but, it really works.

God Bless, Ward.
