Well I've finally gotten logged in. Took me forever to remember my username, & I had to reset the password.

For my first full season of SFG I seriously OVERplanted. My carrots, well baby doesn't even begin to cover it.

I'm curious if everyone else had such weird, wet summers? I had tomatoes drowning, some of my potatoes gave up the ghost, and my melons never got going so no pumpkins this fall, and no melons to eat this summer either. Mad

The raised bed has worked really well this season (& there's still 2 more months that we could get a hurricane & flood some more!). My herbs are doing well, some of them anyway - the Stevia just couldn't take the moisture and I lost a couple of the more rare herbs (sub species of things like orange thyme, and the like). I even had some of my mint die from too much water (never had that happen before).

Still in the mid 80s here in the Hampton Roads so I'm putting in my fall/winter garden & hoping for the best what with all the wet weather we've had.

We are at opposite ends of the moisture spectrum! I hope your fall planting is plentiful!

We were in drought conditions here. As much as I don't like using city water, I had to be grateful for the hose this summer. Rolling Eyes

I, too, recently planted my fall garden. We've had some real rain and the seeds have sprouted. I have my insect magnet beds covered with tulle & netting, so we're off to a good start. Whew, such a funky season! 3170584802

I will share ALL the water you'd like to haul with you! We live on a marsh, and it floods constantly - 3 times in the last month or so alone. Just be aware that it is water from the Chesapeake Bay so a bit salty. When can I expect you to collect? Wink

Do either of you have rain barrels? I have 3 that get so full its ridiculous but I'd rather have them full & not need them than the other way round.

No rain barrel yet. I've been collecting rain water in 5 gallon buckets, when there is any rain. Otherwise I fill my buckets up with the city water each night to use each morning.

I also collect rain water in 5 gallon buckets, I was a very slow well so I use all I can get but it has been very scarce for the last 6 weeks!

I got mine from Craigslist of all places. They were free & a guy was moving & giving them away. Might be somewhere for y'all to look because I know it can be pricey to make them (I'm dirt cheap in all things!).
