Can someone identify what is wrong with my watermelon? This showed overnight and now is taking over? Is it so serious that I will have to pull it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Heidi, does it seem like a fungus growing on the leaf or does it seem like the leaf itself is turning color? If it seems like the leaf is turning color it could be a nutrient defficiency and not a disease. Watermelon are heavy feeders and at may just need a boost!

Did the leaf happen to have a dusty appearance a few days before the leaf got the spots. Or did you notice any yellowing of the leaf before the spots appeared?

Ugh, sorry. It might be watermelon mosaic virus. Notice on the leaf on the lower left, the color variation between yellow and green. I suspect that's the early stage.

otherwise, I suspect fusarium or powdery mildew.

Any help would be appreciated.

Heidi

Could it be sun burns from droplets splashed on the leaves while watering? Could some other substance have been sprayed on the leaves? Fertilizer sprinkled on them?
