This is an example showing vines "spilling out" of the box.

I have some squash that are really taking over. Here's 6 weeks ago. The Aussie Butter Squash is lower right, red circle highlighted.

I moved the fence 6 feet to make room. I don't think I need to highlight it in this photo. They are probably 15 feet long, going up and down the hill.

There are 6 big squash on this one plant. I'm guessing the big one is 4-5 lbs. Anyone know when I should harvest them? Soon, or let 'em grow on?

Thanks again to Nonna.PapaVino for the seeds.
Anyone have ideas for prep? Recipes?

Ooooh, gorgeous! Nothing better than watching something thrive and go crazy in your own garden is there?!
Australian Butter Squash eh? Hadn't heard of that one, but after reading about it, it sounds fabulous!
My vote is the first harvest gets roasted with butter and brown sugar drooling and for the second harvest I'll give you my mailing address hungry Laughing

At least, you should check into renting the neighbor lot until frost... This thing is big.

Squat, the Aussie Butter squashes in your pictures are not yet ready for picking....actually, mine topped out at 10-15 pounds apiece. You want the color to become a pale peachy orange, and the skin to resist puncture by your thumbnail. For recipes, it makes the finest pumpkin pie you'll ever taste, also a fantastic souffle. If you make ice cream, how about pumpkin ice cream? Cream of pumpkin soup is really fine, too. I'll post a recipe or two in the recipe section of the forum. Oh, and now you know why we planted these near the fence so they could climb up. This year they get an arched cattle panel. Nonna

Wow, I really have to start eating out of the freezer. That's gonna be a ton of squash from two seeds.

@Nonna - I saw some of your recipes... thanks.
