Welcome, Welcome, Welcome! I hope you'll post those photos you promised in the July updates thread (I am about to post one in a few minutes under the C&T South forum). It's so hot in our region we need everyone's support in this severe weather.

Kay, most of our state was affected by Debby, and we've had terrible forest fires here due to the drought of recent years, so the water did go to most of the FL forest fires. I know people who haven't lived here or traveled extensively in our state don't think of forests in FL, but most swampland is forested, where it's not a broad stretch of water. FL is made of many swamps, lakes and forests. Live Oaks and pines are most prevalent, and most of the Live Oaks are covered in Spanish moss...which easily catches fire, unfortunately, allowing forest fires to spread rapidly.

2 different..... lost the plants on the first trellis

If you look close, you can see the first trellis in the second trellis pics. The second box is up on a berm next to the house.

Actually, I do understand what you mean. I live near the southern end of the Great Dismal Swamp and it burned for two months last summer until Hurricane Irene gave some relief in Aug. and then it took a second storm, Lee, to really put the kabash on it in Sep. Same general flora as your swamps and the underground peat that just keeps smoldering. I learned about fires spreading underground when I worked for the Fairfax, VA county fire department. Had no idea dirt would burn. All that lovely compost.

I guess I've been slacking a bit!

Your probably fine .... that pic is a bad representation.

That plant is a Sweet-100, which usually doesn't require a lot of pruning.

I've had 30+ days of crazy rainfall & the mildew/mold/fungus are kicking my tush Embarassed . Right now I'm trimming anything that even resembles blemish/disease, to try and stay ahead of an infestation.

Normally no need to trim hydrids that agressively .....
