Black Aphids on Collards & Chard
There seems to be an infestation of black aphids on mature heavy leafed plants like collards and chard. No ants, though. Heavy-duty coverage along the main vein on the back of the leaf.
We have plenty of lady bugs, and they don't seem interested either. The black bugs are going for mature growth, not new growth. It could be they are something other than an aphid?!?
"It" does have the classic black bump, not much movement, apparently (from their location) a sap sucker.
Remove the leaf? Apply a treatment? I'll see if I can get a photo.

Yep soapy water Worked for me. I put some liquid castille in the bottle, about 2 tablespoons and fill a quart bottle.

Looking up the Squash bug, thanks to the other thread, I think that's what they are. I'd have to see some more to tell. They looked too big to me for aphids. But I'm used to the soft green kind on the roses.
