Re: garlic up ???
Yup 9. It's starting to come to life a little more after pulling off the straw.

I think they have lots of room to grow!

Re: garlic up ???
Mine are like yours Rooster but set as 9 per sq ft .
Most of mine were planted last year and transplanted into newly filled MM beds when I changed over to a total MM system this February .
I'm going to boost them with a light sprinkle application on the MM only of blood , fish and bonemeal Then scratch it in & water it in . This usually give some really good sized bulbs .
One year I made the fatal mistake of getting it in the crook of the leaves of garlic and cabbages .. result .....all affected plants died in just over a week

Re: garlic up ???
Like Plantoid, we side-dress our garlic around March 25 with bonemeal and fishmeal. Not that Mel's mix isn't a full-meal deal, but garlic stays in place for so many months, a little boost does no harm.

The elephant stuff ( apparently bit's not a true galic but a garlic flavoured type of onion ) grown over here can attain a diameter of four inches .. you may need to revise the planting spaces.
Re :- Getting the blood fish & bone fertilizer in the crook of a leaf.. it's a couple of grains of it getting in the joint of where the leaf stem joins the main plant .
Once the BF&B gets damp or wet it goes rotten very very quickly releasing the nutrients in to the ground aand feeding the plant via the roots but when this happens and it is right on the plants skin / surface it kills the plant PDQ by infecting the plant with rot of the worst kind .
So you must ensure it never gets into direct plant or flower contact. Use a plastic 2 litre soda bottles with the bottom cut off & place them over the plants if you really want to be sure of protecting the plants as you give any additional feed them .
Once you have fed , gently scratch it with a pencil in and water it right away to get it started working where it is needed .
