Whey protein
Do any experinced gardeners have advice on using whey (from homemade yogurt or cheese production) to water plants and/or compost?

I use extra milk from my goats in the garden. I use it to water the compost pile (it is very dry here in southern California) and sometimes dilute it to use in watering things that need extra calcium, like tomatoes plus it can be used as a spray for things like powery mildew. I'm not sure if whey can be used as a spray on the plants but yes on using diluted whey in the garden.
