Greeting from Belgium :-)
I am new to SFG and new to this forum, but as I was looking for more info on the method, I ended up here after just one google search in English.
I am a member of a Belgian/Dutch forum (called garden advise forum but then in Dutch) as well, but I thought it would be fun and no doubt helpful broaden my horizons online :-)
I hope to pick up ideas and possibly share pictures with you in order to make as much as possible from my little garden! For a few years I've been growing things in pots, but now we have our own (though small) garden, it will be nice to take it to the next level.
Housing in Belgium is much smaller though I believe, and so are most of our gardens. So it's really make do with the space that I have.

Re: Greeting from Belgium :-)
Hi and welcome to the Forum. My favorite place on earth is Brugges! It was the best place to take my older mother as it is so easy to get around. I also have an American friend who is a pastor in Brussels.
If you go to the search area in the upper left and type in Belgium, you will be pleasantly surprised that there are a couple Forum members from there! Just a quick search & I found "saartje" from Tervuren and "tony d" who lists his location as Belgium and also mentioned the Netherlands.
On the Home page, if you scroll down you will see a Europe Forum under International Forums.
Again, welcome!
Kim

I have seen women looking at jewelry ads with a misty eye and one hand resting on the heart, and I only know what they're feeling because that's how I read the seed catalogs in January - Barbara Kingsolver - Animal, Vegetable, Miracle

Hilde
glad to have a new member from Belgium. Small spaces are great for SFG.
Please feel free to ask questions and we will help when we can.
The ALL NEW SQUARE FOOT GARDENING book is simple to understand and full of easy instructions.
Good luck and keep in touch. Once you have completed your first week here, please share pictures, because we love them.

Square foot gardening is perfect for your situation. All the garden in 20% of the space and with little work once you are set up. Read the web page and try to get a copy of the book. It is an eye opener. And whatever you do, don't scrimp on the Mel's Mix. It is the heart and soul of the method and what enables you to grow so much in so little.

Re: Greeting from Belgium :-)
Hi Hilde,
Welcome to the forum.
My wife's family is all in Sweden, so I got into SFG ardening I spread it to the family over there. They have very compact yards and a short growing season, but the SFG method has proven very successful in Sweden.
What about rooftop community SFGardens? I would think that would be a good place to demonstrate the effectiveness of SFG.
Good Luck and please have a waffle for me, unless you’ve had a real Belgium waffle-you haven’t…

Re: Greeting from Belgium :-)
Welcome to the forum. I also have a small garden. I'm a renter, so I have one 4x6 box and one 4x2 box they are elevated, we call them table tops (or TT's for short), and pots as well. Square foot gardening, or I guess square meter gardening where you are, is a great way to get the most from a small space. Growing verticaly really helps too. I also like the roof top idea. The soiless mix we use is lighter than regular potting soil.
