New to SFG
just wanted to say hello and am looking forward to SFG. Have done row gardening for years and wanted to try something a little smaller, with better results. Any advice from "the veterans' would be greatly welcomed.

Welcome Critessi to the Square Foot Garden forum and family. The best advice any of us can give is if you do not have a copy of Mel's book, "ALL NEW Square Foot Gardening" is to get a copy for yourself and read it cover to cover. I find that I refer back to the book on a regular basis. The book is available through this site's bookstore, most major bookstores and in many Lowe's Home Improvement stores.
One of the things that I did 'wrong' was to go big to soon. As in any new project there is a learning curve.
In the book Mel talks about building boxes out of cast off or free material. That is a good way to keep startup costs low. Check out construction areas, behind the big box stores, as neighbors etc. You might be surprised what you can get free. In any case have fun with the easiest way to garden ever developed.
God Bless, Ward.

Re: New to SFG
Hey Critessl, I am not a vet, just someone like you. I've gardened for years, but this year I am SFG. Learning just like you. Wishing you joy in the process.
