Hello every one and thank you for all your answers to the questions I have posted so far. I finaly looked into this part of the sight and was excited to learn I could read a little more about all of you. In the mean time I will tell you a little about my self.

My husband and I are the parents of 3 young children (aged 7, 5 and 2). We also have 7 chickens for the eggs. It has been fun to learn about them the last 2 years.

I love to garden but this will be my first year with SFG. I have wanted to try for years- so here we go. In addition to the garden we have lots (15) fruit trees and about 4 nut trees. Needless to say I also can a lot of food every year.

In addition to all this I enjoy hand work ie, smocking, crochet, and embrodery. I also enjoy piecing quilts and just finished one for my niece. My mom owns a long arm quilter and I enjoy that when I get one pieced. I am trying to learn to sew clothes but am a little scared of that.

You'll have to forgive any spelling errors in any post I put up- I've never been any good. I always liked what Mark Twain said on the subject- "I pitty a person who can only spell a word one way- it shows a lack of creativity." Accutally I've always been a little jealous.

But that's about it; that's mostly who I am. I look forward to getting to know you all. Thanks again for all your help so far.

ooh fun! you're going to enjoy this style of gardening.

my kids are 6,4,1 similar in age to yours.

we are on second year sfg.

it's not hard at all. hardest thing is deciding what to plant and which square. . .at least, that's my problem at the moment, lol.

welcome to the forums!

Mary and I have two kids. Our son is 22 and our daughter will be 20 in May. We are in our 2nd year as SFGers and like you we also have fruit and nut trees. Sometimes I have been called a nut myself.

God Bless, Ward.

Hello from S. Jordan UT Empty See you in July

Post  capsounddad 4/9/2010, 9:18 pm

Tamara,

As part of getting back into the swing of things (see my "Hello" post), I will be visiting Ogden in July during Pioneer Days. The folks at the Foundation are attempting to find some opportunities for me to do presentations during that time. Even though you will be deep into your growing season, it wouldn't be a bad idea for you or anyone for that matter to attend one of these presentation. There you can compare what is happening in your garden to what you think should be happening and ask questions. By the way, S. Jordan has a special place in my past.
