Strawberries in Phoenix
Do any of the desert dwellers out there have strawberries going? I'm planning on putting some in a few squares and wanted to see if anyone has had any luck. I picked up a 6 pack of everbearing strawberries. No identification other than that although the guy at the nursery thinks they are Quinalt.
Please tell me about your experiences with strawberries. Thanks.

Re: Strawberries in Phoenix
Tried them as one of my first gardening experiences - didn't turn out well but I don't think they got enough sun. I'm interested in learning what others have done successfully.

Re: Strawberries in Phoenix
I tried them several years ago. They were in our front yard on the north side of a wall. They didn't get much sunlight, however, they survived for several years. Unfortunately the fruit was always eaten by snails.
I hope this try will produce better strawberries. I already have at least one started and a blossom.
