I have two spaghetti squash plants that the vines have gone crazy, but still no fruit! Two mornings ago I woke up early and noticed the flowers were completely open, so ran down to take a look...usually they are always closed. I've been reading a little bit on here about male and female flowers and I don't think I have any female flowers! We've had off and on heat here in Minnesota with some rain mixed in. I've been watering well when it hasn't rained. Is there anything I can do to get get female flowers?
I really was looking forward to eating spaghetti squash from my garden this year!!! Help! Very Happy

I've found that most squash/pumpkin plants produce several male blossoms before they start producing any females. The male blossoms can be prepared and eaten, as well. Here's a great recipe.

So all hope is not lost yet?! I guess everything else has been slower than last year, so the squash isn't any different! I will definitely have to try eating some of the male blossoms! Thank you! Smile

I just found my first female flower today. I'm keeping an eye on it to see what it does. I can't wait for Spaghetti Squash!
