Below is a picture of my first Hopi squash. I think it is about 10 to 13 pounds. Any guesses on how to cook it ? I have never cooked snything that big, just butternut, spaghetti, and pie pumpkins.

John, I personally like my winter squash baked, so I think I would cut in half, scoop out the seeds, and continue to quarter until they are manageable size. Then I would brush with melted butter, and bake at 350F until tender.

I like mine with butter, brown sugar and a bit of salt or maple syrup. But anything goes! What do the Hopi squash taste like?

I know you can also clean well, cut up and slow cook them until tender with some water or apple cider or broth.

Thanks for the advise. That's what I will do to cook it. How does it taste? I don't know. I bought the seeds several years ago and the first year I tried growing them I did not get any. I forgot about them and saw the seeds this spring so I tried again. I have one other still on the vine. When I cut it Friday morning I went to my seed stash to see what the packet said but I can't find the packet. Not that I ever misplace anything or forget where I put anything... thinking
