I have a question about cucumbers
Hi everybody!
I was just out in my garden watering and I noticed that my cucumbers (Straight 8 ) are starting to flower. However they are not vining yet. They are about 8-10 inches tall. Should I let them flower or should I let the plants get bigger first?
Thanks!

Re: I have a question about cucumbers
Wish I could help more. Mine took off and one is about 6 feet high already. However, I am just starting to see flowers. They are down toward the bottom of the plant, but buds are all over the place. Looks like I will be covered in flowers in another couple weeks.
I may be tempted to pinch the first few I see if my plants were as low as you describe. But, it probably won't matter much in the grand scheme of things.

Thanks for you input BBG.
I did more searching on google (Wasn't using the right words for the search to start with) and found that cucs flowering early is not all that uncommon. Most recommend pinching the flower so the plant can work on growing instead of producing fruit while the plant is still so small.

Re: I have a question about cucumbers
I'm glad to see this. I have short stubby plants and many flowers as well. None of the flowers are femail, either. Tomorrow I'll pinch off the flowers and hope they get taller.
