moss?
I went up to the roof to visit my SFG for the first time in while and to get ready to prep and plant now that we've finally reached the end of the frost danger zone in my area. I notice that there is a lot of moss growing in my boxes. Should I be worried about that? What's the best way to remove the moss? Can I just scrape it off the top? Can I put it in my worm composter?
My SFG is in 4 boxes on my roof, which tends to get a lot of shade from surrounding buildings (plus we get a lot of fog where I live). I had my husband move the two smaller boxes a few feet to a slightly sunnier spot, but the 2 larger boxes (2 x 8 each) were too heavy for 2 people to lift and move.

I don't know what to tell you about the moss, but you are so right about the weight of the bed. I tried to move one of my 4x4's just an inch and couldn't get it to budge. If I ever have to move them, maybe I can hire the football team.

I had moss grow on a container of Mels' Mix (5 gal bucket)and I just skimmed it off and added it to my compost pile. Since I have never had a worm composter, I don't know if the moss could be added to their home.
