Chive Blossom Vinegar
I wanted to share this recipe from a favorite food blog of mine. I've got a ton of chive blossoms, so I bet others do too. I can never keep up with them, so thought this would be a good way to use more!

I'm going to be making this today. I just need to pick up some more vinegar.

Awesome idea.
I like the fresh blossoms in pasta or potato salad.

Chive Blossom Vinegar
Thanks for sharing, muffinator! I don't currently have any chive planted, but definitely want to try it in future gardens. I tried planting garlic chives from seeds earlier this year, but they just never sprouted - might be a good thing since I've learned since that garlic chives can be invasive. I'll try regular chives next time. I've saved the recipe in my "To Try" folder.

That looks lovely. I am going to try that too. My chives are just starting to flower so that will be a great way to keep them from seeding themselves all over the herb bed. And my girls will love the gifts too.

Re: Chive Blossom Vinegar
I made two batches of this on Friday. If you save your bottles from vinegars, soy sauce, worcestershire sauce, etc; they are perfect for small batch vinegars. You even have the shaker part and are reusing what would otherwise be thrown away or at best recycled. I will often put a fresh couple of blossoms or sprig of herbs in for aesthetics.

Re: Chive Blossom Vinegar
I just saved a soy sauce bottle 2 days ago. My chives are almost in full bloom, so now I know what is going in that bottle!
