Okay, I've got lettuce coming up, and I'll be eating it next week whether it's ready or not-I AM. Any one have a good recipe for salad dressings, I mainly want one for Honey Mustard (we have bees so honey is NO problem), but will take other ideas, any one have one?

Okay, so I decided I was hungry enough to look one up that no one I "know" has used and found this one All Recipes.
Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, mustard, honey, and lemon juice. Store covered in the refrigerator.

Way too much calorie content, I was thinking Greek Yogurt instead of Mayo....

I replace Mayo often with nonfat sour cream. It seems weird but I almost like the creaminess it lends better than mayo.

Shrug....just a thought.

Does the smell of this in any way resemble Blue Cheese dressing. My father loves that stuff, I can't get near it, or him when he's eating it, especially if he put eggs on his salad. OOPS was that TMI?

half and half sweet rice vinegar (Mirin) and soy sauce with just a few drips of sesame oil. Low cal, low fat and very tasty oriental dressing and dipping sauce. Gyoza anyone?

I made it last night (complete fiasco .... foodprocessor broke & had to chop by hand). The smell isn't bad. However, I wouldn't recommend telling anyone whats in it.

Green Goddess has been my wifes favorite dressings for years, but it's getting hard to find on a regular basis, so I researched the original recipie from the 1920's and started making it for her.

She loved it ...... until last night when the foodprocessor broke & I had to chop/mix by hand, and she saw the ingredients. She sat there mumbling "I don't know whats in it, I don't know whats in it", the whole time she was eating her salad. Embarassed

To answer your question ..... I hate Blue Cheese because of the smell too .... so I'm pretty sure you should be safe with the Green Goddess.

Valerie, here's a vinaigrette recipe I posted last summer -- you could easily drizzle in honey to taste:
