I have never harvested salads from our garden this late in the season. This evening I brought in arugula, Red Russian kale, mustard, leaves from Great Lakes head lettuce that has bolted but is still sweet, a German Giant Parat radish, a white winter radish, green onions (Egyptian Walking) and a fennel stem. (LaFee, I tried it in the salad and discovered I like it raw after all - just not the bulbs.) I added one of our tomatoes picked last week. It was delicious and filling - the salad greens aren't as delicate as when grown in spring.

Looks beautiful, Ander! Are you going to try the kale in a salad (??) or something else?

I intended to make a salad for supper so I picked smaller kale leaves. (Sorry about the quality of the photo. My hand was a little shaky.)

I still can't believe we are eating fresh salads from the garden in mid-November. It's wonderful.

(And we are getting some rain this morning. Yay! My area has been in extreme drought for a long time. Even a small shower is welcome relief.)
