Hi from South Texas...actually Agua Dulce which is about 45 minutes from Corpus Christi. I am new to SFG and so excited. I am still reading the book....but am going today to get what I need to build my boxes. My 5 yr old will be home from mawmaw and pawpaw's next week and I want to be ready to start planting with him! I appreciate all the wonderful posts and look forward to reading and writing more! Going out now to enjoy our beautiful Texas weather......wish you were here!

Welcome to the forum and to SFG. I think you'll find it to be the most satisfying gardening experience you've ever had. There are plenty of Texans on here, some down in your area. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. Someone is bound to have an answer and if not, you'll certainly get plenty of opinions.

Howdy, "neighbor!" I'm in McAllen, so relatively close in the grand scheme of things. How's it going? What are you planting?

Welcome. I take back what I just said to Elliephant about there not being any South Texans on the forum. I'm sure you two will become good SFG friends, and the rest of us will be green with envy when you are bragging about your gardens come December and January. BTW, I grew the very best cauliflower ever when I lived in Hebbronville (about an hour north of McAllen). I planted the seeds right in the ground in September and had huge cauliflower most of the winter.

That just put a huge smile on my face! That's exactly what I'm hoping for! The one cauliflower I grew in my SFG this spring was absolutely delicious, but I had to pick it small because we've already had some highs in the 90s. So looking forward to the winter gardening adventure,
