Book suggestions?

Other than Mel's of course. Book suggestions? Icon_biggrin

I like having reference material. What I want is a book, or books that teach me about the individual plants and their needs. Geared toward vegtables is great. Also towards attracting bees and butterflies. I like pictures...I am a very visual person.

Any suggestions?

I would be lost without Sunset's Western Garden Guide and I believe it covers Idaho. It has pics but is pretty broad in scope.

I just picked up and have been loving, Rodale's Vegetable Garden Problem Solver (the best and latest advice for beating pests, diseases, and wees and staying a step ahead of trouble in the garden). It's got an alphabetized listing of common veggies, their needs, a variety of common and some not so common ailments, the best way to start plants, keep them healthy, etc...It's not a huge tome, it's practical, and I've been using it nearly daily just to enjoy for future garden planning and to see what I need to do if I choose to be more proactive about my pest problems, etc....LOVE it and think it's the best book purchase I've made, second to Mel's SFG book.
