Chinese Broccoli
I have started six Chinese Broccoli plants this year, a first for me. I have never seen them before, much less grown them. The description makes them sound delicious, though. Any suggestions or tips on growing them? How many should be planted per square? I only started 6 plants, so I think those can all go into one square, but not sure how big they get.

Re: Chinese Broccoli
Sounds intriguing, OG. Reading the reviews, I am not sure what to tell you regarding spacing. I think I would try 3/square, in adjacent squares to start, as the spacing is 8” per plant. I will be interested to hear how this plant does for you! I have had iffy luck with regular broccoli, but I love it!

Re: Chinese Broccoli
They sound similar to growing broccoli raab, though of a different Cabbage species. The spacing given is 8", so in a 4 sf space 9 plants. I have grown Broccoli raab in the past, both broadcast seed in a sq and then thinned as needed and planted in a grid at 16/sq again thinning. The thinnings are very tasty. A little more space makes a leafier plant, a tight space and they are prone to bolting.

Re: Chinese Broccoli
They sound so good, especially pan sauteed. Only 4-6 hours of light required is a bonus. I grow 2 Swiss chard 8" on diagonal in 2-3 squares, 9 plants in a 2' square sounds equivocal.
Well, I just ordered them. Free shipping AND they also had the elusive poblano pepper seeds at this time. Zero, nada of my 6 remaining germinated.
