Re: Message from Sanderson
2020 was a breeze for me compared to 2021. The surgery on July 12 went well and I am pretty much healed. I still have some residual nerve damage, probably from the 3 1/2 months living with the synovial cyst. I had to learn to drive with the slight foot drop but at least I can drive, again.
Twelve days before surgery, I came up with a condition that had to get under control so I could have the surgery! Basically, I could only eat a little white rice for 60 hours before surgery. After surgery, I had to start the chore to get a diagnosis and resolution for the new condition. Through the grace of God, there was a cancellation and the ladies in the doctor's office selected me from the cancellation list. Otherwise, it would have been Dec-Jan before I could be seen. It really pays to be nice to the doctor's staff. A week ago I had the colonoscopy and the results of the biopsies were completed by Tuesday, revealing the exact cause. An office appointment cancellation allowed me to see the doctor on Wed and start the medication that evening! I am already feeling soooo much better and able to do some fall cleanup and amending. I have to use Lowe's 2-gallon buckets now, for the compost, but, hey, I'm limping around getting ready for winter.

Oh Heck! Sanderson. I have been away for some time from the guestbook and I have missed your saga. In spite of your troubles, the pictures of your garden look as good as they always have done thanks to your family and the setup that makes it relatively easy to look after. at lease as far as I can see.
I hope you never have to go through this again, and that goes for all the gardeners here. Love from Kelejan.

Sanderson,
Your luck is bound to turn soon!
I'm glad your new condition is treatable.
As to the nerve damage, has any treatment been suggested?

Re: Message from Sanderson
Thanks ladies. It's good to be as well as I am, puttering around the garden, and eating everything.
Re: Message from Sanderson
We are having the house fumigated for dry-wood termites. So, moving out tonight (Monday) and may be moving back in Friday. We are staying in town but I won't have my PC, only sharing husband's laptop.
I will be checking in when possible but OG and Mark will still be here.

Re: Message from Sanderson
My husband (75) tested positive for covid and, while I (73) haven't tested positive, I've had the same symptoms.
I'll be back as soon as I can think straight.

I hate to hear that! Hope that you only have very mild symptoms, and that both of you recover quickly!

I'm heading out of town for an overnight visit to see the kiddies. I'll be checking in, off and on. If you have a question, Ohiogardener and Markqz can help.
Compost is hard to find locally in the Fresno, CA area. While I'm up in the north of Sacramento area, 3 hours away from home, I will pick up brands available in in the Gold Country. A lot more expensive brands than I am used to paying for, but I'll think of them as an early birthday gift.

Have a good time! I stopped by the local Lowe's to pick up a package of peat and found there was none to be had. I asked a guy working in the garden center what happened to it, since there was a large pile of it just a few weeks ago. He told me they are cleaning out the garden center to get it ready for the Christmas display and a lot of stuff has been put in the warehouse until Spring.
