Don't know what to call it!
I know I'm only 1 person, but, the little green box in the reply box is annoying. In a short reply it's ok, but if it's a long reply, you are typing and cannot see your words for the box is sitting on top of the words as you type. Maybe the box with it's words could be moved out of the writing area up to the top, next to the 'POST A NEW TOPIC'

Re: Don't know what to call it!
I've been trying a few new things here and some will work and some won't. We have been working on something else a bit better for a couple of days now but just can't seem to get it to work properly
but hopefully soon!!
I can't promise that everyone will like the changes nor can I please everyone, but I do feel a need to promote the method our site was originally designed for and there will be some changes being made.

I'll say this quietly... I found it annoying too
But I'll never admit that out loud

Thanks Rooster! I don't mind change or promoting SFG!
Maybe an icon with SFG on it, that folks could use like an Emotion, when writing a reply?

How about a "Like" button on responses so we don't have to quote to say we like someone's post?

In a forum you type '+1', that means you like the post or agree with the post.SwampCatNana wrote:How about a "Like" button on responses so we don't have to quote to say we like someone's post?

Camprn, I do think I need to do more computer work, investigating where folks are getting those 'cute emotions' they are using! Thanks! :fall:

Yes, but then you have to post. With a like button you can let them know you like what is posted without having to waste space posting again.

Re: Don't know what to call it!
The request for a 'like' button has come up before and it is my understanding that the software will not support a function like that. Sorry.SwampCatNana wrote:camprn wrote:In a forum you type '+1', that means you like the post or agree with the post.SwampCatNana wrote:How about a "Like" button on responses so we don't have to quote to say we like someone's post?

I use facebook, so I'm familiar with the "like" button, and I also check out another forum rather frequently that has the option of voting whether a post was helpful or contributed to the subject. The latter causes all kinds of problems with people getting their feelings hurt or accusations that certain people are always yes or no voted. Facebook continually has people petitioning for a "dislike" button. Some facebookers complain that people just click the like button and don't actually ever contribute anthing. So any system out there has it's pros and cons. Since ours can't be changed, I prefer to think of it as more friendly that people have to take the time to write a response.
Wow camprn, I had no idea there was a page 4 and 5 on the Emoticons!

Re: Don't know what to call it!
ok I see the new ones now they do not have #'s on my screen
