Tom Thumb Lettuce
It has been a loooog time since I have visited the site so I feel like kinda a mooch, but I am looking for Tom Thumb lettuce seeds for this season. I obviously can not find any locally and even the normal seeds places I visit do not even list them in their catalogs. Any fellow Canadian who has some to spare for a square let me know.

Re: Tom Thumb Lettuce
thanks. I found a source but I don't think they are gonna make it here in time for this year. At least the seeds wont rot.

Got my order from Baker Creek Heirloom today, and instantly thought of this post. The free seeds included with my order are none other than Tom Thumb Lettuce, which I have never grown before. Guess I'll be growing some now.

Don't know yet, since I have never grown it, but the description says: "Very tasty, a winner for classy markets!"

Unfortunately, it is too hot now and I have to wait until the soil temp drops below 75ºF so that the seeds will germinate. Lettuce seeds have a thermal barrier coating to protect them from germinating with the temperature is too high for them to grow successfully. So, now is not the right time to plant them in this area.

Re: Tom Thumb Lettuce
Sounds a bit like “Little Gem” that you see at the store sometimes, a butterhead.
