Malabar Spinach Deficiency
Any idea what nutrient deficiency causes Malabar Spinach to fade and turn reddish? It's on the older leaves that are in full sun. Part of the vine is in full shade and remains green. I've been spraying Epsom salts water on it thinking it might be magnesium, but don't know for sure if that is helping.

Re: Malabar Spinach Deficiency
I grow New Zealand spinach so I don't have an answer. Maybe a sprinkle of organic fertilizer in the Mix? Like Espoma Garden-tone?
Re: Malabar Spinach Deficiency
I like growing New Zealand Spinach too. I have a sea mineral fertilizer that I haven't tried yet. I'll give that a try. I'm just curious if anyone knows what deficiency this is.

Re: Malabar Spinach Deficiency
Malabar Spinach leaves normally turn red as they age. If the old leaves of Malabar Spinach turn yellow, though, that shows a deficiency of either zinc or manganese.

Re: Malabar Spinach Deficiency
I many of the leaves are turning a lite green or yellowish as well. So I'll look into getting more zinc in there. Thanks!
