6 or 12 inch box for growing cherry tomatoes?
Which depth is best for tomatoes and peppers? Also, in the interest of crop rotation, should I stick to the perimeter of the box for these vine-like vegetables?

Angel, Welcome to the Forum from California! Someone did an experiment with 2 identical boxes of tomatoes and pole beans. The 6" did just as good, if not better than the 12". Of course, the gardener uses only Mel's Mix and homemade compost for amending.

Hi Angel! Welcome !
6” works fine for anything actually. If you are using Mel’s Mix and compost as sanderson said. I do use a deeper box for carrots (certain varieties) and potatoes (again, certain varieties).

I have found six inch MM works OK and two years ago I got about 80 tomatoes from about six plants. Just a matter of keeping them well-watered, let lots of air between plants, and do not water the leaves but keep the water on the ground.
