2017 Garden Plans - 1st Time SFG, Thoughts?

My garden is in the south yard behind my house. The boxes are in the open and in the fullest sunlight I have.
Still, they will be shaded (eventually) by several trees: Walnut SE, Redbud NE, Evergreens SW.
My boxes came from a cedar kit and are 42x42 (so, smaller than standard size),
I will be planting Rhubarb (today) against the house (S).
Later, Cucumber and Watermelon (S) against the house as there once were grapes and the trellis is still there.
Tomatoes I will be planting out front in a flower bed I used last year where they did rather well (E).
In 2018, I hope to add at least one more box to transplant my strawberries and devote a single box just for them as I anticipate they will try to take over the little bit I am giving them this year.
This will allow me to devote an entire box to herbs - some annual but the rest perennial.
I have a lot of planting to do this afternoon; all of Box 1 to do, plus the rhubarb.
My biggest concern: rabbits and squirrels.

HI think I interpreted your plot plans correctly. Comments, mints can be invasive so their own pot will help with that. Peas can be planted 4 or5 in a row per your linear square foot
