Red wigglers in the garden.....thoughts
Not sure how this would work. Would I just get some and put them into the garden and hope for the best, or feed them any ideas

I'd like to add a question to this as well.
When tilling and clearing my garden plot I found tons of earthworms. Would it be okay to add them to my boxes?

Yes, add them. If they stay, great! If they don't then on their way out they will likely drop some worm castings anyway. Win-win situation. I always add worms especially after it rains I purposely go outside and move them to the boxes.

I've always known worms were good in soil...but how beneficial are they in Mel's Mix? Does MM need the aeration and additives from the worms?

MM needs to be replenished with compost after each square is harvested. Having worms gives it a constant extra nutrient lift! Especially beneficial if the composts obtained may not have been of the highest quality. Love the wormies working in my boxes!

Everything about earth worms/red wigglers is awesome!!!
I apply a dusting of ground corn to ensure a steady food supply for them.

about a month ago I got a load of cow manure delivered I guess the size of a pick up truck load..... so LOTS.
I have been using bits of it on my beds (it is 2 year old manure)
Now I have to be very careful because where ever I go to dig I find TONS of red worms....
It seems to me that the whole pile has turned into a huge worm farm....

I had the same happen with a load of horse manure. Was very happy to see that happen as opposed to having to spend 27 bucks for a batch of red wigglers

I am just wondering if I can add my red wigglers to the pile. I know that they are not supposed to be the same, but they sure look the same and my worm farm tower has become a mess with BUGS and stuff....
