Another question for all of you, in AZ do I need a cover of some sort to shade the plants from our hot summers? If so, what do you recommend using? Thanks!

For smaller plants like lettuce and herbs, I use a very light row cover to diffuse the light a bit. I leave the sides open for ventilation though. For things like peppers and tomatoes, i use pieces of green shade cloth and shade ONLY the tomatoes and peppers to prevent sun scald. Never shade the entire plant or the leaves because they do not need it, and it will only slow development.
