Hello from Nebraska
First year SFG here and I'm all in. Had a deteriorating 16' x 24' Cedar Deck to replace so decided to do table top style beds with all the wood. Just finished up the two month project. also had a childrens playsystem in a huge gravel bed, so took that out and put the garden there. built 8 4' x 8' boxes at about 36" off the ground. Lots of Mels Mix let me tell you. When I can figure out how to post pictures I will. Excited for the season.

Got it figured out and posted some pictures. Lots of Tomatoes, Potatoes, an Asparagus bed (we'll see how that works, may have to add more depth) lots of peppers, Beans (Yellow and Green), Herbs, Tomatillos, Cucumber, Yellow Summer Squash, Radishes, Strawberry Bed. Lettuce of varying varieties. Onion (Red, yellow, and spring onions). Think that's it.

Re: Hello from Nebraska
WoW! Great job. We also have 36" deep beds, but we're old school (didn't know about MM). Ours is chipper/shredder debris for the first 2', then aged horse manure for 6", then store-bought top soil. Unfortunately, we didn't have good compost, so this year I'm having to use Miracle Gro for nutrients. We should have the composting system in place this fall for use next spring. Can't wait to follow your adventures.
Re: Hello from Nebraska
Sorry, not 36" deep, they are on legs and are at waist level, about 36". only 6" Mels mix and 10" for Potato bed.

Now I see the bottoms. I was wondering about 36" of MM.terryNeb wrote:Sorry, not 36" deep, they are on legs and are at waist level, about 36". only 6" Mels mix and 10" for Potato bed.
