Just moved to Sidney, Nebraska and am not familiar with growing seasons here. Any SFG out there near me? I would especially like info on vegetables that will grow well here.

I've been gardening in Arkansas for the past few years, so this is a bit of a challenge.

Any advice would be appreciated.

The county extension agent will be a good source of info on what grows well in your area. They are our friends even if they don't always understand SFG.

+1, that's a good tip Kay! Sweetmama, you can locate your local County Extension Service office at this web site.

Moved here from NW Arkansas. We finally have a house and yard for me to plan my garden. Trying to figure out what areas get more sun and such right now. I would love to hear from anyone near Sidney, NE. I'd like to pick your brain a bit about what grows best here and what I should forget about!

Thanks,

Hey Sweetmama, glad you\'re here to the SFG Forum. I am not sure anyone is on the forum from your area, but I would encourage you to pick up a copy of the All New Square Foot Gardening Book 2nd Edition. secondly I recommend contacting your local County Cooperative Extension Service for your region specific information.
