One item you love the most about S.F.G.
I must say, it's a hard decision., however, aside from growing fine plants..my most favorite item is to be able to always dig down through the mix with my hand and feel the wonderful grit of Mel's Mix..( that's after the freeze is over )

I would have to say the organization/neatness of the boxes - which translates into less weeds, better pest/critter control, better use of space, um..........it seems that one thing leads to another and I just love it ALL!

I love the simplicity of Square Foot Gardening. My boys,8 and 5, are able to gardening and see results without getting frustrated.

I have an analytical mind so I like the control planting of just the right number of seeds. I am sure I will be developing a spread sheet to measure yields. But I may just throw caution to the wind and just enjoy it.

The Mel's Mix is the first thing. I don't have to worry about pH, nutrients, ease of planting, etc. The second is the grid which makes it so easy to seed and plant.

The sense of organization I get when planning, planting, etc. Everything's so neat & tidy, both physically & mentally!

I love being able to walk out to any of the 25 ish square feet of my 36 high raised beds that all have four foot wide cast concrete pathways on one side of them and being able to harvest crops day or nigh , rain or shine , frost or snow without physical or mental difficulty , a muddy and /or wet mess on my feet or any guess work , just a few minutes before the crop is going to be cooked or eaten .
