I tried to upload a picture from my computer but it won't let me! I went to the FAQ's and it says you cannot do it from your computer anymore.

So how do people post pictures?

I post from my computer exclusively.  I will try it now and see if there are any problems.  TESTING.

Yes, it is working fine.  Sometimes, the picture file is too large and it will give you an error message but I can't remember what exactly the message says.

I have a picture of my very first SFG bed and I want to post it. I have read through the link, and got as far Post a Reply page, hosted an image button and got the panel.
I have selected the picture from my Picture Library and highlighted it in blue. Does that mean it is selected?

How does one actually upload this image? I clicked the blue "Upload your image"
but it says no image selected.

Sad

I know it has been told to others but I still have not got it. Sad Sad

It sounds like you are not "opening" the blue hight-lighted photo you selected.

Click Reply
Clink on Host an Image button
Click on photo you want (it will blue high-light) and then click on Open How to host a picture. Post_p10
This will return you to the "Browse box" where you will now click on Host it How to host a picture. Post_p11
This takes you to a box with 3 options:  Thumbnail, Image and Image url
Left click on the middle option to blue highlight it, How to host a picture. Post_p12
Then right click on the blue highlight to bring up a box with a "Copy" option How to host a picture. Post_p13
Normal (left) click on copy
This returns you to the Reply page where you can place the blinking curser bar where you want the photo How to host a picture. Post_p14
Right click and a box with a Paste option opens. How to host a picture. Post_p15
Normal (left) click on Paste How to host a picture. Post_p16
Go down and click on Preview to make sure that is the photo you want. How to host a picture. Post_p17

One last thing, If I want to post more than one photo, I have to go all the way through to the bottom of this list (actually preview the photo) or else it will not let me successfully select a different photo to host.  Just me.  Not everyone has this problem. It may be unique to Windows 7 or just my computer.

Sanderson, Embarassed where is that Open sign or button?
is it a double click or  right hand click?

I have just r/h clicked and found an open, clicked that but still no image.

Just found Picasa 3 on my desktop.  Does that help? My computer guru must have put it on when I updated from Windows XP to 7.

Not all computers/programs work the same way.  Clicking on upload will not work for me.  Also, left clicking on Copy does not return me to the reply box.  If the upload button does not work for you and left clicking on the copy button does not take you to the reply box as Sanderson described, The only way I can get a picture is to do the following.

My Win8.1 makes me crazy.  It does it differently from my XP I used to have.
Sorry, can't upload it.  I'm just not techy enuf to understand how to post a pic.
You are almost there.
After you get to the screen with the three lines.
Put your curser on the middle line "Image" and left click.  That will highlight the line.
DO NOT CLICK ON UPLOAD !!!!!
Then right click on the line.
Click on copy.
Click on preview.
Scroll down to the place where you want to insert your picture.
Right click.
Click on paste.
Hit enter to go to the next line.

Kelegan - I double click on the picture I want to select and it takes me back to the Post a Reply screen.  Then hit Host It.

Congratulations Quiltbea and Cappy.  I have windows 7 as well, Cappy.

I think I almost got it yesterday when I ended up noticing that the picture number was finally in the Browse line and I clicked and got the number in the Image line in the next panel.  The only thing is I have not been able ot duplicate it as I was getting tired.

I get mixed up with right clicks and left clicks and single and double clicks.
I'm not sure the number of options there are each  for the two panels;

Single Left Click, Single Right  Click

Double Left Click, Single Right Click

Double Left Click, Double Right Click

Single Left Click, Double Right Click

I am out now for the rest of the day so I will attack this problem when I come back.

If someone would just highlight the right combination then perhaps I willl get it. Very Happy

For reference, it's not about right click, left click, middle click, etc. It's about selecting, copying, and pasting the correct code. All mouse clicks and settings can be changed in your computer control panel. You can also select, copy, and paste without using the mouse and using key strokes. You can Google (or use your favorite search engine) on how to do so.
