New host
Hello, Mid-South gardeners. I'm really excited to be your new regional host. Although the Upper South is home for me, I lived in the Mid-South for a few years and Dear Hubby is from there and still has lots of family living there, so I'm pretty familiar with the region.
I hope you will all help me welcome any new Mid-South members to the regional forum, and please keep posting your photos and updates of your fall gardens.
I welcome any suggestions to make the regional forum even better, and I hope you all will set me straight if I get things wrong.
LeAnn

Welcome
Hi LeAnn,
I'm sure you will do a great job.
I always thought I was mid-atlantic, but according to this I'm mid-south, so I'm learning more every day! I'm sure I'll be asking LOTS of questions that you can help me with.

Regions
Thanks, Betty. I don't have all the answers, but there is usually someone on the forum who can help so never be afraid to ask.
I know what you mean about regional boundaries. When I took the job as regional host I double-checked to make certain I knew exactly what area was included in the Mid-South. When I googled for Mid-South I found several sites with different boundaries for that region - some were VERY different. I believe the ones the forum uses are from the National Gardening Association. (Someone please correct me if that's wrong).

Re: New host
We use the National Gardening Association's delineations, yes. I'm right on the border between Upper South and Mid-Atlantic, myself. There are so many micro-climates and seasonal variations, though, that I've found great ideas for my own garden by learning about other regions!
Re: New host
LeAnn,
Thanks for mentioning the Mid-South forum. I hear that 'great climates grow alike'..... or was that 'great minds................ awwww never mind.
