Received my sample alliums, anything that I'm missing

The bed for the onions, etc is not ready yet, so needs to have tomatoes removed and lots of leaf mold and compost added (lots of sand in the existing soil mix)

Received the following from SESE and since these are all "fall planters" should go into the bed late October (right assumption?)

Walking and multiplier sets - these should be planted in permanent location?? So that they can multiply? Remember these are an experiment - will they grow?
a) White multiplier onion
b) yellow potato onion
c) Egyptian walking onion
Shallot
a) Grey Griselle
b)French Red shallot
Garlic
a) German red (hardneck)
b) Polish White (artichoke, softneck)

Small quantity of each (we're talking 1-8oz) so will not take up too much room.
Spacing = 4-8 in apart?

Any special info that I might need for the above?

Do know that I will need to add chicken wire to add top height for mulch (8-10' worth?)

I'm not sure what you mean by 'special info that you might about the above'...

Regarding the mulch, typically I apply the mulch after the ground has begun to freeze. The mulch will help keep soil temperature relatively even and hopefully reduce the potential of frost heaving the onions/garlic out of the bed. If I mulch, I mulch the top of the beds, but also the sides of the beds and hope for early deep snow cover to keep it all together.

I think I meant - is there anything that I missed in reading the garlic threads that I need to do to make the soil ready. These are going into a soil based bed and I know that they need more compost. Never have grown garlic and shallots before, so am a real newby with them. Without MM in this bed. hoping to suceed.

Many thanks for responding Camprn - and thanks for "what you do" with mulch. I'm waiting to plant them until the first freeze here and will mulch with straw and leaves - happy eating worms!
