OK, I'm SICK OF WINTER  affraid  affraid  affraid

This fluctuating weather is driving me nuts!  affraid  affraid  affraid

Can anyone else relate?

What are you doing to combat becoming stir crazy?

I can relate!  I agree, we're barely a month into official winter and I am so done with it.  Very worried over 3 beds, one is a table top of strawberries in these arctic temps (now settling down) along with a bed of new asparagus and another bed of garlic. Will any of them survive?  Anyway, catalogue seed shopping helps.  I think using up canned goodies is not only a reward but an inspiration of good things to come.  Tonight for instance I used a bag of frozen very thick roasted tomato sauce on home made pizza.  It's so nice to know exactly where it came from and to enjoy these fruits of labor and love.  I also opened up a jar of brandied pears to put over angel food cake.  That was a treat.

Me, I am just going stir crazy..  Mid-At: Feb 2014 - Fluctuating Weather 1787710427
Actually I broke down and started some seeds, onions, shallots and artichokes, since they are cold tolerant I thought I would start them inside with the hopes of transplanting them in march outdoors when it is too cold for anything else out there.  Although I have never ran in the snow, I have started to this  year to keep from going stir crazy, I run in hiking boots very slowly.  I have harvested (OVER HARVESTED) my worm castings.... and I have made every recipe possible with winter squash in my race to use them all up before they go bad...( I am starting to lose this race)
I even took a few potatoes that were sprouting and put them in a pot inside and they are now a foot high. OH and I also took some sprouted garlic and planted in a pot indoors and it is 6 inches high.  lots o

Fluctuating weather .... well that's about as close as I dare call it as well. Laughing  Laughing

This winter has been " interesting " so far , all we need now is a plague of frogs and we'll have had the full set.

Right now outside the bungalow it's brassy to say the least , I got dressed up like and Eskimo to put out the garbage which took a mere 3 minutes and came back in like a raspberry  ice lolly.

Yesterday  I tried to stay out in the garage long enough to cut some one inch thick aluminium round bar but by the time I'd done one bit I was shivvering so much I had to give up .

Well, how do you feel now.  I actually used the snow blower I bought last spring for the first time.  Weather is changing and we're going to have to adapt.  I have a bunch of seedlings in my basement garden area that have begun to tweak my gardening bug.  My wife said she has become a gardening widow now that I have started my plants. Laughing
