That looks like blight to me.

Thank you Camp, I drive myself crazy looking up info with lots of pictures and just confuse myself more!
I'm going to try an organic product from Melaleuca that says it cures blight through soil application. Read about it in a wellness guide supposedly with proven results in about a week. If this works for me I'll gladly follow up and include a picture.

Gina,
In the mean time keep the affected leaves pinched off and send to the dump.

Yes, thanks Bob. Two days ago I noticed a couple of leaves with dots. Yesterday there was a couple of leaves that needed removal. Incredible how severe things changed overnight. The heat and humidity lately has been relentless. Now if I could only put a protective bubble around the garden...

If I see even one spot , off comes that leaf, and I watch like a hawk for any more lesions. If more than 5 suspected spots erupt, I will break out the garden sprayer and hit all the tomatoes and eggplants and potatoes with copper..... I take no prisoners. Once the blight gets a good hold, it will sweep through like wildfire, destroying everything in it's wake.
ok I'm done with the metaphors.

Good luck with the third trellis!
It sure is amazing how fast a pest, virus, or bacteria can devastate a garden, isn't it? Very discouraging sometimes. Thank goodness you have trellises 1 & 2!

Re: Some good, some bad
LM, I had early blight on my cherry toms about a month ago. I took off all the affected leaves, watered the plants with aspirin water, as Mel suggests in the Answer book, and all was well. Then last week it showed up again on one plant way up near the top, which I thought was kind of weird as we've had no rain and I don't water the leaves. *shrug* Anyway, I removed those leaves, watered with compost tea and am keeping an eye on it. So far so good, but I left a sucker growing near the middle of the plant in case I need to behead this plant.
My extension office suggested copper spray but I haven't used it yet.

I appreciate the input from everyone. A storm came through but now I can get back outside and get on with the blight battle.
