Hailstorm in Winnipeg today...
It was over 10 minutes long, and pea-sized or bigger. My poor veggies are not the better for it!
(you also get to see how messy my kitchen is! )

Some of my radishes came right out of the ground too. They were delicious!

Thanks for the hopeful thoughts, everyone. I have yet to grow a successful eggplant, by any method, and I'm so hoping this time's the charm!
GWN - Even for Winnipeg, it was a late winter this year. We had a snow on May 1st! Several frosts, which my plants seemed to survive (I covered them on warning nights). Just about the right amount of rain so far, however, and lots of sun for the most part.

Well this is my first year up here for eggplant.
Last year I started a lot of eggplant and then gave them all away, and all my friends had great eggplant. So this year I decided to grow it for myself too.
HOPE this will be your last cold spell and summer will just take over...
