Hello Everyone! I am a new gardener. I just rented a large garden space at our local garden center. I have built 6 4x6 beds, 1 2x4 bed and 1 4x12 bed. Here goes nothing!

Hi Midge,

I am originally from the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles. I grew up in Sylmar. Anyway, I sure do miss California weather now that I live in Georgia. Also, we have red clay here for soil.

In any case... I am also a new SFG gardener. I am really enjoying my time here in this forum. Everyone is so helpful and experienced. You will learn a lot here.

Small World! I am from Mission Hills in the San Fernando Valley. I do miss the weather but definitely not the smog (we do some smog here sometimes) but the Valley has much better air then it did when I was growing up.

You will enjoy your sfging! Welcome!

Hello Midge. Welcome to the forum. I lived in Los Angeles for 10 years (mostly in the Venice area) and I really, really miss it! Nice to have a fellow LAlien on board. Very Happy

How'd you find the garden space to rent?

Here is SoCal it seems like the community gardens all have wait lists that will last years.
