Not really a recipe, but....
The other day I added fresh dill from the garden to the Italian dressing we usually make (from the mix + olive oil and red wine vinegar).
It is amazing how much it added and how delicious it is!!!

Re: Not really a recipe, but....
Totally-we planted it for pickles, but had to plant more to support my salad dressing habit!

Planting dill
I made the mistake once of sowing dill in my row garden. It's awesome how well it reseeds itself. The next year at pickle time people came from near and far to take plants from my Amazing Dill Forest.
I learned to follow my grandmother's example and set aside a special place near my yard fence for a dill bed which reseeds itself annually with no help at all from me.
I don't even mind sharing a few plants with the striped caterpillars which later turn into beautiful iridescent swallowtail butterflies.
Today as we finished planting our tomatoes in our new SFG gardens, I glanced at the side of the garden and noticed a few faithful dill plants still coming up in spite of my attempts to relegate it to its proper place. I promptly pinched their tops into the salad bowl I carried with me, but I have no doubt they will be with me always, growing here and there between the boxes in my conversion-in-process SFG.

Re: Not really a recipe, but....
mmm... I love dill, and I have some re-seeded in a little (non-sfg) bed just outside my back door. I'm going to convert that bed to SFG soon too, just for herbs.
My favorites for dill? Just sprinkled on shrimp with a little lemon and then broiled or grilled.... or on buttered new potatoes.
