inferior compost....probably
Merry Christmas everyone!
My beds are doing ok. everything is growing very s l o w l y ! !
i used some cheap compost and I am guessing it had peat mixed in. Are there any recommendations on how to recover from this? I am way over budget so there is no way I can start over.
As always, any help is appreciated.

Happy Christmas Gary! Nice to see you again.
Maybe you can find some free/cheap compost or manure on freecycle or craigslist. If it's composted horse, cow or chicken manure or fresh rabbit or llama or goat manure I would topdress a few inches of it onto the garden beds.

Perhaps top dress with a light sprinkle of fish , blood & bone meal on ther beds without getting any in the crooks of leaf joints etc ( it will usually cause rot in that area when it gets damp ) . Lightly incorporate it in the bed using a thin stick and gently water it down afterwards.
The Fish , Blood & Bone meal will usually give enough feed for six to eight weeks .
Just to clarify if you did not know .... It is a mixture of fish meal , dried animal blood and ground up dried animal bones in one packet .. wear gloves when handling it , don't breathe in any dust and wash well after use .
