This is our home made christmas pudding UK style ..... as a party hat for Munchkin .
We used old neewspaper cut in strips , glued over an inflated balloon , set in a hole in some card board , then painted up when dry .
She won second prize in the school's competition . It was great fun trying to get it made and painted up in time . That is a real holly on the top and a real Holly wearing it ( she can get prickley at times too ).

Hey Gregrenee88! I grew up in Frederick and passed through Sharpsburg all the time on my way to Shepherdstown! I live in Idaho now, but seeing your location on your avatar made me long for MD. Have a great holiday season!

"Ivy League" is back again this year, wishing everyone a Very Merry Christmas. He is an incredibly gentle intact male stud. He has several gigs this holiday including visiting nursing homes. He visits several floors at a time, has no problem with riding the elevators. He graciously accepts loads of hugs from many strangers. He is also featured in a toys for tots program this weedend. When events are over he obediently hops back up into the extended van for the ride home.
He'll certainly receive extra grain and our big hugs of respect and appreciation for his good public relations work.

Well done Ivy L. - you are a stud after my own heart. I make visits to nursing homes during December too (to sing), but probably don't get quite as many hugs...

Thanks QB and TG. There is something very majestic about these large but gentle animals. Over the last few years we've had people just break down and cry when they hugged a llama. I'm not sure exactly why that is but it gets to us too when people become very emotional like that.
And Darci I am Very Sure you are making some very lonely people feel very warm and loved!

LM, is he potty trained for going into the different facilities? We brought some baby pigs in to visit, and they were NOT potty trained! From now on, they only get to visit outside haha!

Re: Monthly Avatar Theme: December 2012
Southerngardener-- llamas have a strong "community pile' instinct and will poo in designated places. We take him to the potty pile before we leave the farm. Also bring a sandwich size zip-lock bag with a small handfull of dry llama bean poo with us. At the location we find an out of the way place and drop the beans. During potty breaks every hour & 1/2 or so we bring him to the new but familiar pile and wallah. When the event is over we clean the little pile and a nearby bush or tree gets the free fertilizer. Llama poo, like bunny poo does not burn. In close to 7 years Leager never had a potty mistake at an indoor or outdoor event or inside a building or the van. Almost all llamas have the same potty behavior. This makes the pasture pretty clean with several piles instead of poo scattered all over. Inside the barn is a spot where they all go too. And that's a full lesson on everything about llama potty behavior and poo, lol.

Good try, lm, but here is what it is:
It's an upside down salad bowl on christmas lights. It make the most amazing colors all over the wall behind it! My mother came up with this idea!
Merry Christmas, All!

This is our Christmas tree with the Pteradactyl bringing Hark the Herald Angel to grace the top of the tree.
The tree is one the kids grew from seeds saved from lemons and oranges sent them by their Biz Nonni.

That is a fantastic tree, Turan! The kids must be very proud and delighted. And very funny - a Christmas Pteradactyl - who'da thunk!?
