Tomato cage as Christmas decoration
I thought this was a pretty neat idea for a tomato cage during the off season. The link is below.

Re: Tomato cage as Christmas decoration
This is my 1000th post on this Forum. Ta-Daa!
And I thought I was a shy, quiet person.
That is a good idea about the tomato cages. I will dig out a couple, and as I have a cedar hedge that can do with a trim, I am on my way.

I just made two of these over thankgiving.
I think they look great and I love the idea of re-purposing stuff like tomato cages off-season. I'll post a pic this evening.

Reminds me of a line from "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer."
She'd been drinkin' too much egg nog.
And we'd begged her not to go.
But she'd forgot her medication,
and she staggered out the door into the snow.
When we found her Christmas mornin,'
at the scene of the attack.
She had hoof prints on her forehead,
And incriminatin' Claus marks on her back.
BTW, I lov the deco tree idea.

Hey cool. My tomato cages are red - very festive. I think this is something I may have to do. Thanks!
Re: Tomato cage as Christmas decoration
Here we go! My daughter and I decorated our tomato cage with seed packets, netting as garland, chicken wire "snowflake" ornaments, plant name tags, garden hose nozzle, shovel, rake and topped it off with one gardening glove for the star. All the credit goes to my husband, and his extensive knowledge of exterior illumination, in helping me figure out how to run the lights from the ones on the house to the garden tree. Now, the only thing missing is snow!!
