Hello everyone. I'm so happy to have found this site. I was referred by a friend in a Master Preserving Course in Maine. I love to work in the kitchen but am hoping to improve my green thumb outside. My gardening attempts have been overwhelmed by the lack of time and fighting with weeds. I'm hoping the SFG approach will help me be a more successful gardener! I have a big yard 6+ acres and I really love vegetables so trying to jump into doing a wide variety of things can be too much. SFG "squares up" growing multiple varieties in a tidy area. Thank you so much for the wealth of information and I sure do hope my success can be shared within the community. May there be food for all!

Welcome lightdriven! I think you'll find this method to be a lot easier than most. You still have to do some weeding, but if you stay on top of it, it really is minimal.

welcome

You are going to love this kind of gardening. SFG's are so much more tidy than regular gardens when you get overwhelmed! My garden, in my opinion, is an absolute disaster right now, but one of my gardening friends was over a few days ago and she exclaimed "Your garden is beautiful! No weeds!" I looked at it from her perspective, and she was right! It is overgrown and not tended as I would like, but SOOOO much better than it was before my SFG boxes!
