Now ask him how many man hours he's got into that simple feature!!!! He hasn't got much gardening done in the last couple days! Great job.
Re: Don't know what to call it!
Thanks, and please don't ask how much time I spent on it

Nope.
Re: Don't know what to call it!
Make sure that you're not in WYSIWYG mode. Use this button to switch to code mode, which I find much easier to use for long posts.
It will look like this:

I don''t have any idea which mode I'm in, no message.
No message this mode either.
Now, what do these modes do? Seems like they change text size, anything else?

Re: Don't know what to call it!
Jo, code mode shows the editing codes. WYSIWYG will show the results of the code; it will show visually what will get posted.
In code mode, if you put in a picture, it will show the code for the picture and takes two lines of text. In WYSIWYG mode, it will show the picture itself, and take up a lot of space. When posting a lot of pics, I find it very cumbersome.
Rooster's message may not work in IE version 8 and older. It works in IE9, and I'm told IE9 is greatly improved over older versions.

Re: Don't know what to call it!
I'm using IE 9. It's probably some type of operator error! I'll try turning off and restarting and see if that helps. May be a setting in IE 9 too? Jo

Re: Don't know what to call it!
Can't help ya there; I can't upgrade to IE9 because I'm using an older operating system.
Re: Don't know what to call it!
Works just fine for me on IE9.

Re: Don't know what to call it!
I just checked, and it's working fine in FF, Chrome, and Opera.
Is this a good place to express my opinion about IE. Oops, nevermind, for a moment I forgot we were on a family friendly forum!

I've got a new computer and it came with IE 9. You could list the things a 'computer illiterate-me' could do better with ff,chrome and opera! I'm open to changing but wouldn't know where to begin.

Re: Don't know what to call it!
Well, I have another problem. In the previous post, I put an emotion, it showed up when I wrote the post, but, when I hit send, it showed as text only? Is this caused by the mode I'm in? Works in preview in both modes.
Now it seems to be working!
Jo

For years, IE has been the bane of browser software creators. While all the other browsers were developing at a similar pace with each other by adopting each others new features that were good, Microsoft has done it's own thing, including not fixing known bugs when they upgrade. Software code writers were forced to write new code that worked for everyone, and then write another code so it would work in IE. Millions of manhours wasted. The majority of folks have used IE because it was included with Windows, and didn't realize there were other options.
It may be good timing on your part. Supposedly, IE9 is greatly improved, and the other browsers may not offer significant improvements that would benefit you at this time. I'll be curious what other users, familiar with multiple browsers, have to say about IE9.
