Re: New to SFG in the Netherlands
Hi all,
I went and put up a trellis at box 1 for the zuchini, I am not sure when it will need it, but I'll be going away for a week after this week. And I see the leaves grow larger pretty quick. Would be a sin to let things go bad by not being there. A neighbour gardener will water when needed.
Yep I know the black plastic around the boxes doesn't make it look pretty but it gives me a grip on the amount of roots, weeds and stuff shooting up behing my back, while working on one side. That will all be gone come spring
I also made a chickenwire top for box 2, it will start coming above soil this week I think. The birds have been taken the little yellow name tags out. Probably think it is food and then toss it because it isn't what they expected. LOL
I also found that chickenwire would be best handled with more than one person LOL or I am still learning to deal with it. Anyway, it is on and that is what counts.

Re: New to SFG in the Netherlands
Hallo Annelies,
this post ended in july 2012 if i see that correctly.
How is your SFG doing now ?
It was a terrible winter/spring and a hot period in july.
I am trying to start a vegetable garden next months, so these posts were very helpful for me
