Squash rotting
My squash is rotting at the ends, what can I do or what am I doing wrong? Please help...

Probably did not get pollinated. Seen any bees around? The female flower has the fruit behind it and if it is not pollinated, then it will rot and fall off. If this keeps happening, then you may have to do the pollinating yourself. I remember reading about this, but have never had to do it yet.

our summer squash last year did the same thing.....
1. it was not polinated
2. it is blossom end rot....like what tomatoes can get.....we fed our plants some liquid calcium ( dont remember what the brand was-i will try and find my old post from last year and post it) but....after we gave them the calcium they did great and didnt have that problem again the rest of the summer

Is it rotting after the flower opens and then closes again, or before that can happen?

WHenever I see the male flowers AND the female flowers I help them out with the q tips.
A little stuff from the males I just put on the females... Is this TMI?
My first year of growing them I lost a lot the same as your picture, then I looked it up and found out and it was just that it was not pollinated.

When hand pollinating squash I will usual just pluck the male flower and use the stamen to pollinate the stigma on the female flower. This is usually done because I seem to lose track of the paint brush.
