Favorite Strawberry for SoCal
Hey there...I'm looking for an awesome berry.
I have Sequoia's and they are okay. Sweet when fully ripe, yet a bit small (it could be they are fully established, transplanted them this year). At full size, I'd say they are maybe an inch long.
I've had Ozarks. Larger berries, but they seem to have a flat taste, even when fully red.
I have two Sea Breeze berries starts on my patio. I don't expect any berries from them this yaer.
So what's a good berry...decent size, great flavor and production? Everybearing is a plus!

Re: Favorite Strawberry for SoCal
I have only used sequoia which I like well enough, but have not tried any others. So I am absolutely no help, but would be interested in what others have to say.
Re: Favorite Strawberry for SoCal
I am not from SoCal but we do grow a lot of strawberries here in Oregon and I grown plenty of them in my life so I think I will weigh in...
You might want to try either San Andreas or Albion.
Both varieties have the qualities your looking for and were developed specifically by UC Davis for SoCal production.
