I know seeds will keep for years if kept in cool, dry conditions. But how about seeds kept for 32,000 years in ice. Russian scientists recently published results of seeds unearthed from an excavation 124 feet deep into the permafrost of Siberia. They were apparently buried there by an Ice Age squirrel (Scrat, was that you?). An article with pictures is published on the National Geographic News site. It's a pretty plant and I wouldn't mind having a few seeds for myself.
